Acrylics
Rough texture, by hand, then gold on top.
Acrylic, built up by hand into rough texture, then high-quality gold spraypaint over it. Literally getting my hands dirty before the gold goes anywhere near it. The first one, 90 x 80cm, 2019, was made because my mom wanted it for her house. The technique worked well enough that I made a copper/red-gold version for the Monument Hotel in 2021. Metal-based paints are fragile, but the colour's worth it. Two new commissions followed in 2025: one in hard white instead of gold, one with a pattern in pink on grey.
