Cubes

Acrylic spraypaint on canvas, a classic Escher-style cube pattern I've been obsessed with for years. Found projection and tracing as a clean way to do it — tried it on surfboards first. Three colours, hours of close, tedious work, and staring at that pattern up close does something to your head. The first one, 180 x 180cm, 2018, was made by projection. Made a version for my mom, 160 x 160cm, same year. The Kingkool version runs in the original colours of one of my surfboards, 75 x 140cm — that one's gone. Later ones I drew by hand, using my own templates instead of projecting.
