Cubes

Acrylic spraypaint on canvas, a classic Escher-style cube pattern I've been obsessed with for years. Found projection and tracing as a clean way to do it, tried it on surfboards first. Three colours, hours of close, tedious work, and staring at that pattern up close does something to your head. The first one, 180 x 180cm, 2018, was made by projection. I think I've since cut it in half. Made a version for my mom, 160 x 160cm, same year. The Kingkool version runs in the original colours of one of my surfboards, 75 x 140cm. That one's gone. Later ones I drew by hand, using my own templates instead of projecting.
