Upcycled

Shaping boards and building art both make a lot of trash: dead spray cans, used masking tape, leftover resin. I grind the top off a dead can clean enough to call it a flower; built my own tool just for that. The empty cans get cut once they're drained, every one through the same canvas, which is its own piece by now, slowly filling with whatever's left in them. Enough ground tops, framed, became the 64 Can unit, 60 x 60cm core, 2020. A bigger version is underway. The used masking tape from making boards gets crumpled into its own thing too: a fade running cool to warm, not finished yet, resin coat still to come.
