Upcycled

Shaping boards and building art both make a lot of trash — dead spray cans, used masking tape, leftover resin. Cutting the tops off empty cans for the Can flowers pieces leaves the bodies behind — open, hollow, interesting shapes on their own. Sixty-four of them, framed together, became the 64 Can unit, 60 x 60cm core, 2020. A bigger version is underway. The used masking tape from making boards gets crumpled into its own thing too — a fade running cool to warm, not finished yet, resin coat still to come.
